PDP Definitions Goals are expressions of purpose and direction, what is to be accomplished. Objectives (or sub-goals) clearly define, in more detail then the goal,
the specifics of what is to be accomplished. Strategies are measurable and observable actions that outline how you
will accomplish your goal(s) and objective(s). (How will you get to the
what?) Indicators show that a goal is being accomplished. What will you look
for to determine achievement? These can be shown through behaviors, events,
activities, student work/performance, scores, observations, products,
etc. NINE CHARACTERISTICS OF GOAL SETTING
*Or reflect impact on student achievement if you do not work directly
with students. GOAL SETTING Questions to ask while writing your PDP plan:
For classroom teachers and support staff who work directly with students:
these steps should focus on teaching, learning, and student results. Student
needs and abilities should be assessed and implications for teaching determined
before writing the goal/plan. For support staff who do not work directly with students: these steps
should focus on how your work impacts/supports teachers and students. PDP Plan and PDP Progress Reports can be downloaded at:
